| Prof.Dr. Faheem Uddin | Prof Dr. Faheem Uddin, AIFD, Iqra University, Main Campus, Karachi, Iqra Biography: Professor- textile process and product design at AIFD, Iqra University, Main Campus, Karachi with 25 years of experience covering the waste recycling and sustainable processing, highlighting the use of natural and plastic fiber, and chemicals for reducing the environmental footprint and addressing the waste hazard reduction in industry. My academic and professional work moved me from Pakistan to England, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and Germany. The professional move started from Ph. D research work from University of Manchester, Manchester, UK, where I developed novel chemical and printing techniques for printing of cellulose fiber. My expertise in real-world problem solving developed overtime from mono- to multi- disciplinary that enable fiber use as clothing to material surface with application properties for safety, aesthetics, and durable effects using the product research, chemical and natural substances. I lead supervised the research projects in topics for industrial applications. In research projects and studies, the strong capabilities demonstrated included the proposal design, application of methodologies and collaborating the industrial and commercial sectors. These capabilities were developed and demonstrated in Britain, Arab, Canadian and Pakistani environment dealing with European, Asian, African, and Arab professionals. Currently for the last five years, I have advanced my research and innovation interest in the natural and plastic fiber recycling using methods and materials with reduced environmental footprint and increased sustainability in industry- focused areas. I have presented my research work in international conferences, and published papers in Scopus and Web of Science journals as lead author and investigator.
